Biography:
Frosty the Snowman is a fictional character, a cheerful snowman who magically comes to life when a discarded silk hat is placed on his head.
He first appeared in the 1950 song "Frosty the Snowman," written by Walter Rollins and Steve Nelson, and sung by Gene Autry and the Cass County Boys.
Frosty gained wider recognition through the animated TV special *Frosty the Snowman* (1969), produced by Rankin/Bass. Voiced by Jackie Vernon, this Christmas special follows Frosty's adventures with a group of children as they try to protect him from melting and a disgruntled magician who wants his hat back. The character's enduring appeal has led to numerous sequels and adaptations, solidifying Frosty's place as a beloved Christmas icon.
